Show Review from the Birmingham Owl:

His Worship the Mayor' is a light and amusing musical comedy turn. 'We hear a lot about the decline of the music-hall show - how it is becoming more and more vulgar. But we, who visit the Halls regularly, know better'. Acts such as the operatic Four Avocas - 'nothing finer from the point of view of musical art and vocal training could be desired'. They are four Welshmen, and the quality of their voices 'is a rarity'
