Show Review from the Birmingham Owl:

It was only recently that wrestling had become possible for women, and the audience had mixed feeling about seeing them. These six ladies had been in Leeds the previous week and were a large draw. They have become more popular in Birmingham as the week has gone on. 'One could have imagined nothing more objectionable than wrestling ladies'. On Wednesday, well-known Birmingham athlete, Miss Edwards rose to the challenge that the wrestler Miss Bradford would give ?5 to anyone whom she failed to throw in ten minutes. There followed an exciting bout 'in which gracefulness, strength and agility combined'. Miss Edwards who was more heavily built than her rival was declared the winner and received her ?5 from Mr. Frank Weston.
