Programme, James Gaston presents ‘Venus Comes to Town’, Birmingham Hippodrome

A pale cover with a jester’s stick topped by a laughing fool’s head. The stick lies over a Union Jack pattern and is signed ‘Astrop’. ‘Hippodrome, Birmingham’ heads the top of the cover and ‘Programme’ the base. On the back of the programme are various adverts. The inside details ‘Venus Comes to Town’, presented, devised and produced by James Gaston. The show commenced for one week on Monday 20 July 1942 with performances twice nightly at 17:30 and 19:45.
